How many times have you agreed to handle
freight for a client, only to find out that the job is much bigger than you
thought it would be?
First, it’s the minor things. The client
needs more hand-holding then you thought. The route is more troublesome, with
more difficult negotiations with the carriers involved. And then the major
problems hit, and suddenly you’re spending all your time putting out fires.
When you have the bad luck of getting a few of these deals, you’re then not
generating nearly as much revenue as you thought you would. Not only does this
mean you’re doing an awful lot of work for less than you’re worth, but you also
might start to feel that the work is not worth it, which will impact the
